Participants of the All-Russian Summer Forum “RUSSIA – A COUNTRY OF SCIENTISTS. YOUNG MEDICINE” worked alongside leading experts during the “PREVENTMED – 2025” International Forum.
A special pitch session for young scientists titled “From Idea to Implementation: Success Stories of Developers” was held. The speakers included:
Vitaly Omelyanovsky, General Director of the Center for Expertise and Quality Control of Medical Care(Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation);
Nadezhda Rukavitsyna, Project Coordinator of the Innovation Support Center at CEQCMC;
Olga Sobchenko, Managing Partner at S-GROUP Center for Corporate Communications, Editor-in-Chief of the PharmMedProm portal;
Elena Kolotilo, Director of the V.P. Filatov International Foundation for the Development of Biomedical Technologies.
In a discussion format, Vitaly Omelyanovsky reviewed five scientific projects submitted by Summer Forum participants:
– Nikita Ignatenko (Volgograd State Medical University): Rehabilitation glove for restoring hand motor functions after neurological and traumatic injuries.
– Sergey Sviridov (Samara State Medical University): Decision support system for preventing atherosclerosis and early cardiovascular diseases in children and adolescents.
– Ksenia Koneva (Amur State Medical Academy): Software and hardware solution for small histology laboratories.
– Sania Kabuldinova (Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Complex): Minimally invasive surgical method for treating retinal tears.
– Anastasia Pukha (Omsk State Medical University): Cytological gel for diagnostic studies.
Omelyanovsky emphasized the relevance of projects aligned with national healthcare priorities, such as healthy aging and improving quality of life at all stages. He also discussed key aspects of navigating medical market approval and expressed full support for the “YOUNG MEDICINE” project.
Olga Sobchenko highlighted the importance of communication skills in the successful implementation of innovations. She invited project authors to participate in specialized exhibitions held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and offered to host a communications masterclass.
On the sidelines of PREVENTMED, Oksana Drapkina — Chief Freelance Specialist for Therapy and General Medical Practice at the Ministry of Health of Russia, Director of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and scientific supervisor of the “YOUNG MEDICINE” project — outlined key areas of cooperation with the V.P. Filatov Foundation.
Researchers and doctors from the NMRCTPM are part of the expert panel for the “YOUNG MEDICINE” initiative, taking part in the evaluation and selection of contest projects.
“One of the most important tasks of the project is to build a strong scientific environment for young researchers,” Drapkina emphasized.
The session helped clarify many questions young scientists had regarding project development and implementation. While numerous innovations are created to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare, no more than 10% reach the stage of successful implementation — and only 7–9% are widely adopted in real-world practice.
The V.P. Filatov Foundation’s mission includes improving these figures and helping young innovators bring their ideas to life.
